Description

I counted 7 totara through the Millenium Forest (planted in 2000) with immature fruits and 2 with male cones - out of several dozen. totara often seems quite slow to mature. this one has been recorded a few times over the last 2-3 years and is quite laden with fruit. I note that it seems somewhat unhealthy (yellowish) and wonder if it is a stress response - the fruiting, as with a matai reported recently from Aynsley Tce
