Description

Growing on the underside of a rotting log in native forest. Mostly resupinate but with a reflexed bracket, up to 18 mm thick, projecting out up to 40 mm. Texture firm but fleshy, easily sliced. Upper surface of bracket creamy white with an uneven, bumpy surface (photo 3). Lower surface white, exuding clear droplets of liquid, and covered with small pores (5-7 per mm). Pore layer creamy-fawn, 6-7 mm thick. Context in bracket portion creamy-white, up to 10 mm thick.

Description

Growing on a bank beside a walking track in broadleaf-podocarp forest. Caps to 45 mm across, pale creamy-brown with a red-brown umbo, small ridges and hollows on the cap surface. Gills pale brown, joined to the stem. Stems fawn, darkening towards the base, with veil remnants present in the form of a ring.

Description

Growing on the underside and sides of a rotting log in a native bush remnant. Mostly resupinate, but forming narrow, firm-leathery, shelves up to 14 cm wide on the side of the log which project out up to 35 mm and are up to 20 mm thick. Upper surface dark brown but with a wide, pinkish-white margin. Lower surface pinkish-fawn, covered with small pores (7-9 per mm) except for a narrow sterile margin. Fruit bodies readily sliced with a knife, context yellowish-brown overlying a chocolate-brown pore layer up to 6mm thick. Fresh fruit body with strong mushroomy odour.

Description

Growing in a grazed paddock beneath eucalyptus trees. Large mushrooms, caps to 22 cm across, white with large brownish scales. Gills whitish, free of stem. Stems with a large double ring, white above the ring and brownish below, stem base swollen. Spore print white.

Description

Growing on a totara log in a native forest remnant. Caps to 90 mm across, reddish-brown with a scaly appearance. Gills yellowish, crowded, joined to stem. Stems yellowish with pink and brown tints, and what looks like a ring zone about half way down. Spore print rusty-brown.

Description

Growing on a rotting log in native forest. Fruit bodies to 35 mm across and 10 mm thick, soft-leathery, broadly attached laterally, creamy-lemon on top. Pore surface white with 4-5 pores per mm, pores right up to margin. Pore layer mostly creamy-lemon but with a darker zone closer to the pileus surface. The pore layer appears to comprise about 80% of the total thickness. The context appears to consist of a thin layer of creamy-lemon tissue above a slightly thicker gelatinous-looking layer.

Description

Small sessile mushrooms growing in abundance, mainly on the underside of rotting wood, in broadleaf-podocarp forest. Caps to 12 mm across, yellowish-tan, slightly rolled under at the margin on younger fruit bodies. Gills yellowish-tan, darkening considerably with age.

Description

Growing on the ground, apparently on fine tree roots in the soil, in broadleaf-podocarp forest. Caps to 40 mm across, tan coloured, paler at the margin. Gills fawn, becoming more tan with age, decurrent. Stems to 50 mm long, tan coloured, thicker (almost bulbous) at the base than at the top.

Upper surface yellowish-brown changing to dark brown, then white at the margin. Resupinate surface up to 15 cm in length, grey with a white margin, exuding liquid droplets, covered with small pores (5-6 per mm).

Description

Numerous hard woody brackets growing on the trunk of a dead eucalyptus tree. Up to 27 cm across and 7 cm thick. Upper surface various shades of brown and fawn. Lower surface whitish-fawn with a pink tinge and very small pores (6-7 per mm). Context is mainly creamy-white and zoned, with a thin orange line between the context and the upper pileus surface. The context makes up slightly more than half the total thickness.

Description

Solitary fruit body growing on the ground next to a walking track in broadleaf-podocarp forest. Cap 90 mm across. It was growing beneath a fallen branch which the cap was pressed up against, causing the umbo on top to be bent sideways. Gills creamy-lemon in colour.

Description

Growing on rotting wood lying on the forest floor. Hard brackets up to 30 mm across. Upper surface with concentric zones of colour ranging from cream to brown, somewhat bristly. Lower surface with some pores but mostly maze-like teeth structures; pale brown, tinged lilac.
