On a willow tree in a public reserve, near a stream. Leaves on the tree were very black with honeydew.

Bird was feeding on puriri flowers, then sat on a branch singing, then suddenly mid-song swooped over to a neighbouring tree briefly and flew back to a kanuka where it proceeded to munch on a live cicada wings and all! (last photo)

Tui singing & foraging in a mature totara in a residential garden. The tree had ripening fruit. Tui can be found in this tree all year round.
