Searched for about 3 hours. Only one frog! Limited insect life.
It's rediculous! I was looking a year for one of these. Last night I found a young male - and tonight a (gravid) female. ;) Stunning. Some flashes of blue on her back.
Tiny! Baby peripatus.
Extremely small frog - juvenile?!
The young ones always are more vividly coloured with flashes of red and purple.
New individual. Young gecko in area where we spotted the first female - very clearly gravid (about 1 year ago).
Small body, long tail.
Spotted 5 Archey's in a 30min search
Couldn't sex this one - obscured - but guessing female and also guessing that I have seen her before!
Enjoying a fabulous dawn chorus lately!
Native snail munching on a cicada
Collecting insects off manuka tree
Two sitting close together!
Discovered under a ceramic pot sitting on a dead tree stump. The night before a huge flatworm was there. The night after a giant centipede!
Spotted in manuka
Another juvenile (twin) spotted close by - as well as a female adult
Spotted in manuka during a late night spotlighting search
Discovered on manuka foliage
Also 2 juveniles spotted in close proximity - possibly 1/2yrs old (twins)?
Lovely distinctive dark stripes
About 4m above ground - spotted the feet curled around the bottom of kiekie leaf.
Couldn't get a glimpse of head markings - so difficult to say if we've seen this male before.
Have seen this gecko before but not at this location.
Whatever it is? - in large numbers!
