Description

There is one patch of sea anemones in an area of rocks and sand, that look different from the O. muscosa anemones common in the area. I have assumed they might be O. magna, but they have a limited colour range and are about the same size as the O. muscosa, and have a few speckles on their tentacles (but not to the extent usual for O. muscosa). This time some of their column was exposed, and it seems much darker than the O. muscosa in the area, and actually seems to be covered in relatively long verrucae. I am now thinking that these are fully grown forms of some of the smaller anemone that I have been unable to identify http://naturewatch.org.nz/observations?field:Undescribed%20species=326093.
