COMPETITION - Win a signed copy of New Zealand Seaweeds by Wendy Nelson

Hi everybody,

We hope you are enjoying the summer, including many trips to the beach!

The MPI work under which we set up this NatureWatch project is nearing completion.
In mid March we will begin summarising all the observations in this project. We will then combine them with other data sources to map the known distributions of the large brown algae.

But, before then we've decided to run a competition! We are going to give away a copy of New Zealand Seaweeds An Illustrated Guide, signed by the author, Dr Wendy Nelson.

This book was published in 2013 and covers over 250 species of New Zealand seaweeds!

In order to go in the draw to win:

* an individual must add an image or images (observations) of a minimum of 5 of the species included in the project
* the individual must be a member of the project

As part of a project for the Ministry of Primary Industries, we are assessing the potential of large brown seaweeds/algae (orders Fucales and Laminariales) as indicators of pollution. Although true kelps belong to the order Laminariales, we will use the broader term here to include the Fucales.
